I have the same problem. I just keep dyeing my hair.. Maybe if you go to hair stylist, they can tell you something better to use. It will probably be more expensive.. Good luck

black hair is too harsh (especially by dye) and especially as you grow older, it looks witchy, makes a person look old and strained. And no, there is no experiment to test your hair with black...although some salons have that picture program wherein they take your picture, scan it in and show your face with lots of different shades of hair. Not sure, maybe there's a program on the net from some salon...you'll have to google for it.

Once hair is dyed black then you can't lighten it without going to the red stage, and going any higher would make it brittle. So don't take the chance until and unless you're sure that's what you really want.

If you choose a brown color then the grey won't show as bad (won't be that big of a contrast), but Nice %26amp; Easy (by Clairol) is a good product to use, it's an easy one-step. Clairol has other products to cover grey too.

Nope.. u will always have to cope w/ the roots... as long as hair is growing. Have heard that zinc supplements can help regain original color...
