Ok so I bleach my hair about every 2 months...This time I tried a new blue-violet base toner and well it was way to blue-violet because my hair looks like a mix between old lady purplish grey hair and platinum ash blonde...What is the best way to get rid of the violet hue?...Should I use a gold or yellow base toner? What would happen if I just dyed it a warmer blonde?...Any suggestions or tips?? Thanks for your help!!

You have probably left the toner on for too long, so you've overtoned. The toner will fade, however if you're after a quick fix... gold based colours will tone out violet (the same as violet counteracts Gold) Try a Gold based blonde with a lower percentage of peroxide.

Well for the violet use a yellow based toner.. but if you have grey in it then your a yellow-orange or gold.. Good luck and becareful and why dont you go to a stylist it will be so much easier that way you know your hair will come out muchhhhh better and it will survive. Dont keep coloring and bleaching it sooo much your hair will start breaking off. At least deep condition it once a week so that you will moisturize your hair and it wont be dry, brittle and look as overprocessed. I dont suggest coloring it a warmer blonde because you dont know what base color it has. I mean it could turn your hair green as well.. Be careful with your hair and take care... =D

You could try a "bleach bath" (strong) Mix 1 level scoop bleach, 20 ml/gram developer 6% (20 vol), 20 ml/gram shampoo. (mild) Mix 1 level scoop of bleach, 20 ml/gram water, 20 ml/gram shampoo. Apply mixture to the hair. Check your hair constantly to ensure when the desired colour depth or decolourisation has been achieved. Rinse the product off thoroughly. If not rinsed off properly, the product will continue to lighten. This should remove any unwanted blue/grey/yellow/orange or whatever unwanted tone. Alternatively, you could try a semi-permanent colour with a beige reflect or soft gold. Ask your local pharmacy, they may be able to help you with this if you don't want to go to a salon. Toners tend to "grab" sometimes quite quickly so always wipe a little off the roots every ten mins to see how quickly it is processing. Good luck!
