My son had asked me what colour my hair was when I was young, I said Brown, the same as it is now, he looked at me oddly, and said "Your hair is Grey, not Brown" I had not been aware as to how insidious the Greying had been.

In high school typing class my young teacher yanked on the back of my head and said she pulled out a gray hair so it began at age 18 and I was thrilled. My beautician said I would be gray by age 40 and I pretty much was but not a pretty Gray-by age 70 it had turned a snow white and got so many compliments on it and my beautician refused to put even a 6 weeks light brown rinse in it for a change of pace-said it was too beautiful and she was not about to touch it. I had had it colored now and then by another beautifican but hated chemicals that close to my brain so stopped it.

I have 8 silver white wigs that perfectly match my hair and now friends even ask if it is my hair or a wig. When people I don't know compliment my hair and I am wedaring a wig, I have to be truthful and tell them so but assure them it is only because I had not had time to have my hair done for the occasion we were attending.

So, age 18 it began, age 40 pretty much all gray (dark brown original color)-and age 70 silver white. My sister is annoyed she is still brown haired at age 85.I am not bragging about it -I had nothing to do with it turning this lovely white.

It usually happens very slowly. I know that my hair, once blond, is gray now.

I injured my back very badly in 1980 and my hair turned from red to a rusty brown. Now at 66, I still don't have a grey hair on my head! Can't figure it out!

I discovered in 1998 after a surgery. It grew out during recovery. 100%. Every one was overwhelmed at the color. Ive been coloring it ever since.

at 50 i was all white on on top and the ends of the hair was dark,it was unique.now its all white,i dont like using the term GREY.
